From David Rosenberg:
This site, I'm told, will open with my response to the shocking, newly rediscovered Nichol Tapes, now available at bpNichol.ca But this site here should invite response from everyone, especially in response to the Tapes as well as to "aka bpNichol," the new biography of Nichol by Frank Davey. I use the word "response" rather than "comment" purposefully, because much of the initial response to the Nichol biography has been visceral, as if the comments are based on rumors of the book rather than close reading.
If one starts by listening to the new/old Nichol Tapes, questions of authorship and much else rise to the surface and urge a close reading of "aka bpNichol," so that these two recent literary events inform each other. If these don't subsequently lead to a re-reading of "The Martyrology," I'll be shocked indeed.
